The Land Before Time

Iguazú Falls National Park is a step back in time. Deep green rainforest envelopes you while walking the trails, with plenty of curious animals to greet you along the way. Although there are plenty of other tourists afoot, the sheer power of the falls can drown them out, making you feel like you’ve been dropped into a jungle from centuries ago.

I honestly didn’t expect to like Iguazú Falls as much as I did, but the experience quickly broke my “I’ve-seen-Niagra-Falls” American mentality. The falls straddle both Argentina and Brazil, and we spent about 2 days touring only the Argentinan side. If I had to do the trip over again, I would do the Brazilian side as well. We didn’t budget the time (additonal day) or secure the visas for it, but I definitely recommend doing so. Each side is accessed separately and known for different things - Argentina for the action, Brazil for the views. Plus, it makes for an easy border crossing if you’re looking to go from Argentina to Brazil (which we weren’t) or vice-versa.
