Four weddings and repacking for Asia were both good excuses to break up our trip between continents for a month. After living out of backpacks for 3.5 months, we longed for basic comforts, American fast food and the suburban life. Although we missed the personal space and routine of our New York “home home,” we soaked up every minute with our families and friends in Chicago and Denver. Our final wedding took us to Europe, where we spent a few weeks exploring London and Bristol with my UK family and driving our way through the south of France with some of our closest friends.

Absence builds appreciation. Our time spent with family and friends again was so fufilling. What a great reminder of how much we have to look forward to when we’re back.

But now, Asia!
